Description
Through the wonderful responsive medium of clay, a 2 hour workshop will be facilitated to explore the themes of 'resilience, regeneration and recovery after the storm'. Participants will meditate on these themes whilst hand building their very own pod form as metaphor. These forms will then be fired using a saggar kiln technique, a process for creating one of a kind low fire finishes that are burned into the ceramic surface. No experience in clay is necessary as you will be guided by ceramic artist Kim Haughie to produce your very own sagger fired creation. This workshop is all inclusive however it is encouraged that you byo your own combustible organic materials (coffee grounds, leaf matter, saw dust etc) to place inside the saggar kiln for some unique and exciting experimental effects.
