Description
Growing Wild – Linking gardens to nature Part 1 Course to take place at TNC followed by a garden visit, with teacher Elspeth Swan. Elspeth is a field naturalist and horticulturist. She currently volunteers with both the Moorabool and Ballarat Gardens for Wildlife programs as well as in a Landcare nursery. She has many years of experience in providing biodiversity advice to landholders, gardeners and others about biodiversity, land management and planting to encourage more wildlife. Topics covered include: - Introduction to biodiversity - Interconnectedness of all living things - Current status of biodiversity in Hepburn - The role that gardens can play in creating habitats for wildlife - Key elements of a garden for wildlife - Connecting the garden to its surroundings; corridors and wilderhoods Participants will visit a local wildlife garden to inspect key elements of its design. Saturday 30th April 2.00pm - 4.30pm
