Self-compassion is about treating yourself as you would treat a good friend, especially in times of hardship. People with higher levels of self-compassion respond to difficult moments with greater kindness, handle challenging emotions with greater ease and motivate themselves with goodwill rather than self-criticism. In this interactive introduction session facilitator Denise Howes (registered counsellor and qualified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher) will talk about the components of self-compassion, misgivings that people may have about it and its transformative power in people’s lives, including her own.
