Art for Expression and a Better Life

Our aim in this program is to have fun and immerse ourselves in a variety of processes without worrying about being “good” or “talented” or in any way bringing judgement to what we produce. I’ll be asking you to silence the unhelpful inner critic and focus instead on enjoying the process (and the camaraderie) because it is there that inspiration and your own creative voice truly dwell. Each week we will be looking at a different theme with a new technique and then spending the time applying it. I will be encouraging you to continue experimenting at home so you can share the fruits of your endeavours. This will be a safe space for curious people to join together in play and experimentation so they too can find peace and satisfaction through self expression in the visual arts. A starter kit of materials is available for purchase from Sophia for $160.00. Advise by SMS on enrolment if required and payment can be made directly to Sophia in cash or by direct deposit. Required Materials Media: Watercolour paints (pans or tubes) White gouache (tube) Black Waterproof Ink Soft Pencil Eraser Marker Surface: Cotton rich paper/rag in a sketchbook, pad or block A5 sketchbook for sketching and notes Accessories: Synthetic brushes (round and flat) Dip Pen Kitchen Paper Water jar.
